Initiatives-Cœur is a member of the IMOCA class. These are the only boats taking part in the Vendée Globe (solo round-the-world race without assistance).

The little girl on the sail

Naylah, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, underwent heart surgery in 2021.

Sam has chosen her to become the emblem of the association on his sail.

The painter and sailor Titouan Lamazou painted her portrait. He is also the winner of the 1st Vendée Globe in 1990.

The Initiatives-Cœur adventure by its boats

4 boats have carried the Initiatives-Cœur name since the project began in 2012.
In the world of ocean racing, boats pass from hand to hand for many years.

    Initiatives-Cœur 4

    A new boat built using the mould of Armel Tripon's old boat (L'occitane en provence), It benefits from the latest technological advances, in particular the rounded shape at the front (known as the Skow).

    It is fitted with the latest generation foils designed by the team's young engineers.

    who will underwent heart surgery in 2021.

  • Initiatives-Cœur 3

    Launched in 2010. This boat finished 3rd in the 2017 Vendée Globe with Jérémy Beyou and 6th in the Transat Jacques Vabre with Tanguy de Lamotte and Sam Davies.

    In 2019, she will be equipped with foils. During the 2020 Vendée Globe, she suffered major keel damage, forcing Sam to make a stopover in South Africa. She courageously finished the circumnavigation out of the race and helped save 103 children!

  • Initiatives-Cœur 2

    This 2006 boat is the former boat of Vincent Riou (PRB), with which he saved Jean Le Cam when he was shipwrecked in the 2009 Vendée Globe.

    Tanguy de Lamotte finished 7th in the 2014 Route du Rhum and 5th in the 2015 Transat Jacques Vabre with Sam Davies.

  • Initiatives-Cœur 1

    Tanguy de Lamotte is making his debut in the Imoca class in the 2012 Vendée Globe.

    He is sailing a 1998 boat that Catherine Chabaud and Marc Thiercelin sailed with. He completed his circumnavigation in 95 days.

    In 2013, he embarked on the Transat Jacques Vabre with actor and comedian François Damiens.
