donate 1€ to the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque charity
During each major sailing race (Vendée Globe, Route du Rhum, Transact Jacques Vabre), the 1 click = 1 heart provides the opportunity to increase public awareness of the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque charity and collect funds to help save children with heart defects.
Nearly one child in a hundred worldwide is born with a serious heart defect. These diseases are often fatal and only surgery can cure them.
Heart surgery requires specialised medical techniques, that are extremely expensive and do not exist in many countries. Each operation costs €12,000.
The Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque charity enables children with heart disease to be operated on in France when it is not possible in their own country for technical or financial reasons.
Hosted by volunteer families in France, more than 3,000 children have already had surgery since the creation of the Association in 1996 by Professor Francine Leca (France’s first female heart surgeon) and Patrice Roynette.
