An operation costs €12,000 on average.

The Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque charity enables children with heart defects from underprivileged countries to be operated on in France when it is impossible to do so in their own country for technical or financial reasons. The children are hosted by volunteer families and operated on in France. More than 2,600 children have already been treated since the Association was founded in 1966 by Professor Francine Leca and Patrice Roynette.
